In the clip, a lioness is clinging to the back of a wild buffalo and trying to find a way to defeat her prey. Surprisingly, on this hunting trip, the male lion just stood and watched the female lion struggle alone with the prey without refusing to help.

In the end, despite her best efforts, the lioness still could not defeat her opponent.

Lions are superior predators and are key predators thanks to their abundant prey populations. However, contrary to popular belief, male lions do not often hunt, but females are the main hunters.


The male will be responsible for defending the herd and territory against rivals or other predators. Although females do most of the hunting, male lions usually get to eat first.

Their primary prey is other mammals, especially medium to large ungulates, including plains zebras, wildebeest, wildebeest, and antelopes. Gemsbok, giraffes, hippos, and even juvenile African bush elephants.
