Crossing with Crocs: Daring Frogs Find an Unorthodox Path to Cross the River

These ғᴇᴀʀless frogs performed the conga while jumping onto the back of a crocodile. Funny photographs capture the moment that the five tree frogs scaled its leg and squished together on the croc’s back and the first amphibian balanced just inches from its teeth.

The photos were taken with a Canon EOS 60D by Jakarta-based photographer Tanto Yensen, 36, while he was in Tangerang, Iɴᴅᴏɴᴇsɪᴀ.

The tiny tree frogs, whose hues range from brilliant green to brown, can be seen clinging to one another and taking advantage of the caiman’s free ride. The caiman was a little perplexed, but it didn’t appear to care about its new companions. Frogs, snails, freshwater crayfish, spiders, and small lizards are all edible to caimans.

When these ғᴇᴀʀless frogs climbed up onto a caiman’s back to do the conga, they exhiBɪᴛᴇd no ғᴇᴀʀ. The caiman, a larger reptile, did not appear to mind as the first frog ғᴇᴀʀlessly climbed up its leg. The tree frog then safely down the caiman’s back, inspiring the other frogs to do the same.

A smaller bright green tree frog was permitted to jump onto the back of one of the larger tree frogs so it could also scale the caiman. The last frog was witnessed assisting one of its companions by lifting its hind legs so it could get onto the caiman’s back. Then, the five tiny tree frogs congregated and seemed to be doing the conga on the caiman’s back.
