Terrifying lizard eats giant king cobra in a split second
Pictures of a large Western Aᴜsᴛʀᴀʟɪᴀn lizard chowing down on a ᴘᴏɪsᴏɴᴏᴜs tiger snake have surfaced in the state’s South West. Although this ᴘᴏɪsᴏɴᴏᴜs snake is capable of ᴋɪʟʟing an adult human with a single Bɪᴛᴇ, it cannot compete with this hungry lizard.
While traveling north of Walpole, Department of Parks and Wildlife officer Janine Liddelow observed a southern heath monitor eating soᴍᴇᴛʜing. She said that the first thing she did was try to avoid running it down.
She realized it was a tiger snake when she saw it writhing about in its mouth. A particularly unfortunate tiger snake made its way down a southern heath monitor’s throat who seemed to be unaffected by the lethal poison in its supper.
Since she had been doing this for 20 years, neither she nor any of her coworkers had ever witnessed this. Even while it surely occurs, it was unusual to witness it at that precise moment.
According to Ms. Liddelow, southern heath monitors are immune to the poison of tiger snakes, hence the snake had no chance against the reptile in a ғɪɢʜᴛ. She claimed that because the reptile could go up to 1.5 meters long, not many animals were willing to take it on. It doesn’t matter what they eat, she added, she had seen them consume rabbits and other small mammals. Whatever it can get its hands on, it will eat.
