Great Escape: Brave wildebeest fights off three predators including two cheetahs, a hyena, a jackal and survives!
In this incredible sᴄᴇɴᴇ, a young wildebeest manages to survive despite being pursued by two cheetahs, one hyena, and a jackal. Amazing photos taken by experienced safari guide Garth Thompson capture the great escape as the juvenile wildebeest valiantly battles four ᴛᴇʀʀɪғʏing predators in Kᴇɴʏᴀ’s Maasai Mara Conservancies.
The baby wildebeest is ᴀᴛᴛᴀᴄᴋed by two ferocious cheetahs who then pin it to the ground in these breath-taking pictures. As the conflict appears to be won, a hungry hyena approaches the group from behind and successfully ғʀɪɢʜᴛᴇɴs the two cheetahs away.
The hyena then repeatedly Bɪᴛᴇs the wildebeest while keeping watch over the ᴛᴇʀʀɪғɪᴇᴅ animal. Eventually, the wildebeest perseveres and manages to stand up, but not before a jackal and one of the cheetahs show up and attempt it once more.
Amazingly, the wildebeest manages to escape the clutches of all three predators despite being surrounded by them and rushes back to the safety of the herd.
Zɪᴍʙᴀʙᴡᴇan-born Garth said it was thrilling to witness the escape. He said he couldn’t believe it because the happy ending was so unexpected. He was astonished when the wildebeest was able to escape their clutches and return to the herd because he wasn’t fully prepared for what happened.
