Amazing images show the moment a mouse was swallowed whole after coming face to face with a blue snake. The curious rodent was shown walking up to the 27-inch snake and sniffing it while appearing unaware of the threat.

The venomous predator opened its jaws wide and flashed its fangs in the direction of the rodent before consuming it whole. The amazing photos were taken by Indinesian photographer Dzul Dzulfikri from Bekasi after he noticed the extraordinary event in his friend’s lawn. Once a week, mice are given to Dzul’s friend’s pet blue pit viper as a treat.

The photograph captures the tiny mouse and the 27-inch blue viper brushing noses before the snake unpredictably opened its lips and gobbled the mouse whole. The blue pit viper ate the four-inch rodent in less than five minutes.

People are fascinated by blue snakes because of their unusual hue, despite the fact that there aren’t many of them in the world. The blue pit viper is not, however, as harmless as it might seem. It is indeed a ᴘᴏɪsᴏɴᴏᴜs snake, and its venom can cause severe internal and external bleeding.

All of Central and Northern South America, as well as the Iɴᴅᴏɴᴇsɪᴀn Sunda Islands, are home to blue vipers. Due to the eyelash pits on the snake, this kind of ᴘᴏɪsᴏɴᴏᴜs snake is challenging to spot in its natural habitat. In the event that you do encounter one, stay as far away from it as you can.
