Three monkeys suddenly appeared in Ben Cat town, Binh Duong. When the monkeys were hungry, they attacked 8 students and a woman.
On December 16, the People’s Committee of Tan Dinh ward (Ben Cat town, Binh Duong) confirmed that a herd of monkeys attacked students in the ward about a week ago.
Initial information, about 3 monkeys (2 big, 1 small) appeared in the ward about a week ago. Because the monkeys were hungry, when they saw the students holding the food, the monkeys rushed down to grab the food.
About 7 primary school students and 1 kindergarten student had their hands scratched by monkeys. Students have been vaccinated by their families. A woman in the ward was also bitten and scratched by a monkey.
According to the locality, because the monkeys move constantly and appear suddenly, the authorities have not yet determined their location. The government has informed people to be vigilant, and schools have measures to ensure the safety of students.
Ward People’s Committee also sent an official letter to Binh Duong Provincial Forest Protection Department to support and take measures.
